Step 17: Hire Movers and Start Packing

Now that the inspection and appraisal process is behind you, it’s time to hire movers and begin packing!

Call now to get moving estimates and secure a mover, as their schedules fill up quickly. If you’re moving into a condo building, check with the HOA president or property management company for any move-in requirements such as fees, elevator reservations, or restrictions.

Regardless of the mover you choose, we highly recommend requesting wardrobe boxes for your hanging clothes. This saves time as the movers can transfer your clothes directly onto the rods in the boxes.

Moving Supplies:
Start gathering boxes and packing materials. Look for free boxes on Nextdoor or Facebook Marketplace. Otherwise, U-Haul and Uline are reliable sources for moving supplies.

Pets:
Moving can be stressful for pets. Consider having them stay with a friend or in daycare for a few days during the move to reduce their stress.
