Step 21: What is ‘Clear to Close’

Closing day

Very soon, we should receive the "Clear to Close" status from your mortgage lender and underwriter. This significant milestone indicates that your mortgage has been approved, allowing your lender to proceed with funding for the purchase of your new home. Subsequently, we can progress towards the closing process, with the confirmed closing date provided by the title company.

Exciting news! Additionally, we can now organize the final walk-through of your new home, typically conducted before the closing date. While scheduling it the day before is an option, many sellers are in the midst of packing, making it more practical to consider conducting the walk-through on the same day as the closing.
